Diferencias HW Galletto 1250, 1260 y NewSerial.exe

Hello I can confirm there is no diference between the hardware of galletto v1250 and v1260. At least I will expose how I get that conclusion.

The only differences is the software. It has been improved to manage more ecu's.

My experience.... I bought a galletto v1260 clone. It came with its software (patched NEW_SERIAL.exe v1260). At first I connected every thing but I did not work at all. What I did is to get FT_PROG.exe form FTDI usb-serial converter (which is the chip used for usb to serial converter). At the same time I got (I do not remember where), the configuration file for FTDI galletto v1250, and I notice the info inside where the same as mine. Also I had the original galletto software v1260 and I try to use with the cloned cable, I did not work.

After that, I debug the new_serial.exe with IDA PRO, and I notice that after listing the FTDI devices, It gets the ID STRING of the ftdi chip (stored at EEPROM), and it compares with "47514789". What I did then, was to write that string to ftdi chip by using the FT_PROG.EXE. EUREKA.......!!!!!! Now the cloned hardware was comunincating with NEW_SERIAL.exe galletto.

After that, I did the same with the original Galletto v1260 software. Than I got the ID STRING was "73945120". EUREKA....!!! original sotware working with cloned hardware.

Finally, I compared the v1250 configuration file I got from internet with v1260 which I have working with the original software. Then ID STRING "73945110" very similar to v1260 but diferent.

Conclusion:

Origianl Galletto v1250 -> ID STRING "73945110"
Origianl Galletto v1260 -> ID STRING "73945120"
New_Serial.exe v1260 -> ID STRING "47514789"

FlashGM.exe v1080 -> ID STRING "00487C10" (not sure!!!!!)

No creo que sea de mucha utilidad, y mucho menos escrito en Ingles.
La mayoria de la gente, no sabe que es el ida, ni para que sirve, y mucho menos utilizarlo.
Se puede convertir facilmente una interface gallo clone de 1080 a 1250 a 1260 o viceversa.

Si no se entiende el ingles, se puede utilizar algun traductor.

A mi me sirvio la investigacion que hice....!!!! El interface que me vendieron venia con un Identificador que no era el correcto para la version de software que me dieron.
Es decir si a alguno le pasa que el "software" no detecta al hardware clone... Deberia mirar el identificador que contiene ese hardware y asegurarse de que el driver esta bien instalado.

Por otro lado no creo que sea ilegal. Si no se modifican los ejecutables y/o se venden no incurres en ningun delito (vamos creo yo). Por otro lado lo de modificar el Identificador es legal y se hace con la herramienta FT_PROG.exe del fabricante FTDI (se puede bajar de su misma web).

a ver un colega me consiguio el programa supuestamente "o*****", es identico solo que con G en vez de cuadraditos rojos, de hecho es una version supuestamente más moderna (por fechas de modificacion etc).

tendria que hacer esto para poder hacerlo funcionar con mi gallo clo.n verdad?

una cosilla más, que ventaja habria de hacerlo funcionar con el o**** (si realmente el de las G es el original que imagino que si) a usar el clonico? imagino que al ser una version más moderna algo llevará pero exactamente no sé el que.

Simplemente lo hice como prueba de concepto.
